Lease een batterijopslagsysteem en geniet van de voordelen zonder een grote eenmalige investering. De units van Cactos kunnen naar wens parallel worden geïnstalleerd, zodat je over megawatturen aan capaciteit beschikt op het moment dat je het nodig hebt.

Het Cactos-systeem is beschikbaar op basis van een leaseovereenkomst. De contractduur is doorgaans tien jaar en het onderhoud van het systeem is volledig bij de leaseprijs inbegrepen. Aan het einde van de leaseperiode kun je de unit behouden en het onderhoudscontract bij ons voortzetten.

De batterijopslagsystemen van Cactos zijn technisch klaar om het elektriciteitsnet te ondersteunen tijdens kritieke momenten door deelname aan de markten voor systeemdiensten*.

‍*Momenteel biedt Cactos deze deelname aan in Finland. De vergoeding wordt bepaald door de markt en hangt af van factoren zoals de grootte van je Cactos-systeem, de marktprijzen en het aantal uren dat je reservecapaciteit aanbiedt.

Naast het verlagen van je energierekening en het beschermen van je bedrijf tegen de grillen van de energiemarkt, zijn de systemen van Cactos technisch al volledig voorbereid op deelname aan de markten voor systeemdiensten. *

* Op dit moment is deze functie beschikbaar in Finland. Zodra we dit in Nederland uitrollen, neem je als Cactus-klant automatisch deel aan deze markten en draag je direct bij aan de stabiliteit van het elektriciteitsnet. De landelijke netbeheerder (TenneT) vergoedt deze deelname, wat een mooie bron van extra inkomsten voor jouw bedrijf betekent.

‍De hoogte van deze vergoeding hangt onder andere af van de capaciteit van jouw Cactus batterijopslagsysteem, de actuele marktprijzen voor reserves en het aantal uren per jaar dat je deze reservecapaciteit beschikbaar stelt.

De markten voor systeemdiensten

The electricity grid must have an equal amount of generation and consumption at any given moment to maintain the grid frequency within the agreed 49.9-50.1 hertz range. Your local transmission system operator (TSO) operates ancillary service markets for real-time balancing of the national electricity system. In other words, generators, consumers, batteries, etc. participating in the ancillary service markets are continuously involved in the management of the frequency of the electrical grid.

It is difficult or impossible for an individual consumer or company to participate in the markets due to, among other things, the minimum bid size of the markets and various technical requirements. However, by leasing a Cactos energy storage system, you can participate in the ancillary service markets as part of a larger pool.

The return is determined by the ancillary services market, which is a marketplace operated by the local transmission system operator. Cactos' systems operate mainly on the hourly market, which trades for the next 24 hours. As an example, in Finland information on the prices realised can be found on the Finnish transmission system operator Fingrid's website.

Historically, we know that the ancillary service market revenues for 2023 and 2024 per one Cactos unit have been on average at least in the order of the lease payment.

Cactos uses its proprietary backend system to aggregate Cactos energy reserves into a larger virtual energy reserve that meets market requirements in terms of both size and technical performance. Cactos manages reserve market trading and reporting on behalf of its customers. The distribution of the ancillary service market revenues between Cactos and the customer is agreed between the two parties.

Ancillary service market income is remitted to the client once a quarter, in accordance with the actual performance. The customer will be able to monitor the reserve market returns on their own equipment in real time through Cactos Spine, an application provided by Cactos.

The ancillary service markets are the answer to a technical problem for transmission system operators – how to keep the grid frequency between 49.9 and 50.1 hertz. This challenge will not disappear in the future, so ancillary services will certainly be needed in the future. In fact, the increase in wind power generation, for example, will increase the need for frequency stabilising reserves in the grid and the need for reserves is growing.

Leaseovereenkomst

The contract includes the installation and connection of the equipment to the electricity grid, financing, servicing and maintenance of the equipment with spare parts, ancillary service market trading and 24/7 monitoring of the equipment.

The contract is financed by Cactos affiliated AIF fund supervised by the local financial supervisory authority.

In principle, we offer a 10-year leasing contract, but this can be deviated from if the customer so wishes. However, the minimum duration of the contract is 5 years.

At the end of the contract period, you can choose to keep the unit and continue the maintenance contract with us.

Producten

Cactos offers a full warranty on the equipment it manufactures for the entire leasing period. The warranty covers both labour and necessary spare parts.

The amount of capacity to be installed depends on a number of factors such as the size of the electrical connection at the installation site, the characteristics of the potential PV system and other factors related to electricity consumption. Our experts will always design the optimal package together with the customer, taking into account the various factors that affect the sizing of the system.

The Cactos system delivers savings in many ways. Firstly, it optimises the purchase of electricity for the times when electricity is cheapest. Secondly, it can cut the peak power of the connection and reduce the potential power charge. If the site also has its own energy production, the Cactos system can store the energy produced for use when it is needed. At the same time, the amount of electricity purchased from the grid can be reduced.

In addition, where power cuts cause disruption to production processes, for example, the batteries have significantly reduced the costs and disruption to production caused by power cuts.

In addition to the savings, the Cactos system participates in the ancillary service markets, from which you as our customer receive a return.

All this is driven by the Cactos Spine system, which optimises trading on the ancillary service markets with local savings. The system seeks the best financial result for the customer, taking into account savings and returns.

Cactos delivery time has typically been around three months at most. However, due to high demand, it is advisable to contact Cactos Sales to ensure up-to-date delivery times.

Our smallest model Cactos Cardo can be installed if the installation site has at least 3x63A fuses.
